Onam 2018: PM Modi prays and urges help for Kerala’s recovery

New Delhi | Onam celebrations have been subdued due to the floods this year. But Prime Minister Modi showed his support by taking it to Twitter sending prayers, and sending Onam wishes and urging help for Kerala’s recovery.

On Saturday, politicians across the line wished the people of Kerala on the festival of Onam. They offered prayers for those affected by the floods. The unaffected homes bore minimal decorations while the temples across chose to use their funds to meet basic relief needs for the affected.

PM Modi and Politicians took to social media, urging people to help in rebuilding Kerala. Modi on Twitter wished the people on Onam. “May this Onam give further strength to the people of Kerala to overcome the adversities they’ve been facing these past few days,” he wrote.

The President Ram Nath Kovind expressed Onam wishes and hope to the people of Kerala. “Good wishes to fellow citizens, particularly to our brothers and sisters in Kerala on Onam.”May this festival mark a new beginning for all those in Kerala recovering in the aftermath of the floods, and gradually beginning to rebuild their lives,” he posted on Twitter.

Kerala has witnessed its worst floods this year. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder for Kerala’s recovery and prays for the people and sends Onam wishes as a sign of prosperity and respect for the people of Kerala.
