“Pakistan Wants Cordial Relations With India”: Imran Khan Responds To PM Modi’s Letter

Imran Khan in his letter to PM Modi said that the people of Pakistan also want better relations with neighbouring countries including India.

 

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressing the importance of creating an “enabling environment” for dialogues between the two countries. Imran Khan in his letter said that it is imperative to create an “enabling environment” for a “constructive and result-oriented dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues between Pakistan and India”.

His letter comes as a response to Prime Minister Modi’s letter to him extending greetings on the eve of Pakistan day. In his letter to Pak PM, Modi had said that India desires cordial relations with its neighbour but the atmosphere of trust, devoid of hostility and terror is “imperative” for it.

Imran Khan Mentions Kashmir In The letter

Imran Khan said that the people of Pakistan also want better relations with neighbouring countries and India’s name is also included in that list. While PM Modi called for an atmosphere free of terror, Imran Khan said resolving the Kashmir issue is also important to establish peace. Pakistan also wants peace in South Asia. Imran has wished the people of India to recover from Coronavirus soon.

Did UAE Royals Broker Peace Between India-Pak?

The Bloomberg report claimed that there were important talks on regional and international issues between UAE Foreign Minister and Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, who arrived in New Delhi on 26 February. In a closed-door meeting, talks were on to improve relations between Pakistan and India. According to the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs, the restoration of the ceasefire agreement of the two countries is only the beginning. Now, India and Pakistan will start working towards improving relations rapidly.

Positive development was seen in DGMO level meeting

In late February, there was a meeting of the Director-General of Military Operations (DGMO) level in the Army of India and Pakistan. While talking on the hotline, the two countries agreed to fully abide by the 2003 ceasefire agreement. The UAE had praised the development and 24 hours later, Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed arrived on a visit to India.
