PM Modi to visit Jammu & Kashmir on a day-long visit

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir a day-long visit on 19th May.


PM Modi will be attending the closing ceremony of the birth centenary celebration of the 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche in Leh. He will also lay the foundation stone of the Srinagar Ring Road.

Prime Minister will also dedicate the 330 MW Kishanganga Hydropower Station to the Nation, at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. The Kishanganga Hydroelectric Plant is an $864 million dam located 5 km north of Bandipore in Jammu and Kashmir which is part of a run-of-the-river hydroelectric scheme that is designed to divert water from the Kishanganga River to a power plant in the Jhelum River basin. Construction on the project began in 2007.
