New Delhi| Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) founder Ram Vilas Paswan passed away on Thursday night after prolonged illness. Paswan, 74, breathed his last at a hospital in Delhi. Informing about the passing away of his father, LJP President Chirag Paswan tweeted and wrote, “Papa …. You are no longer in this world but I know you are always with me wherever you are. Miss you dad. ”
Ram Vilas Paswan was admitted to a hospital in Delhi for the last several days. He had also had a heart operation just a few days ago. Ram Vilas Paswan was in active politics for more than five decades and was one of the well-known Dalit leaders of the country. Paswan was the Minister of Consumer, Food and Public Distribution.

The mortal remains of Ram Vilas Paswan will be brought from Delhi to Patna this afternoon. His body will also be kept in the party state office, where his supporters will pay their last respects.
The cremation of Ram Vilas Paswan will be done with state honors at Digha Ghat in Patna on Saturday.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the national flag will fly half-mast in the capital of all states and union territories including Delhi on Friday as a condolence on the death of Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan.
