New Delhi | President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday departed for an official 3-day visit to the central Asian country of Tajikistan.

During the 3 day visit, President Kovind will meet his Tajakistan counterpart President Emamoli Rahmon along with Speaker of the Tajikistan Parliament Shukurjon Zuhurov and Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda. During the visit, President Kovind will also an address on ‘Countering Radicalization: Challenges in Modern Societies’ at the Tajik National University.
In his first ever visit to the Central Asian region, President Kovind will pay his respects at the Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore memorials in Dushanbe. President Kovind will also be addressing the India Community living in Tajikistan. In the 3 day visit, President Kovind will discuss areas of bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation in strengthening the Indo-Tajik bilateral relations.
President Kovind is accompanied by Minister of Defence (State) Shubhash R. Bhamre along with Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Manhas.
