General Rawat and his wife Madhulika were among 14 passengers on the helicopter which crashed near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu.
New Delhi: An Army Chopper carrying Defence officials had crashed at Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor, on Wednesday. Fourteen people were on board, including Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Laxman Singh Rawat, and his wife.
On this tragedy, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted, “Extremely tragic news coming in from Coonoor. Today, the entire nation prays for the safety of those who were onboard including CDS Bipin Rawat and his family members. Also praying for the speedy recovery of everyone who was injured.”
