Rajasthan Assembly Sends Show-Cause Notices To Sachin Pilot & 18 Rebel MLAs

The notices were not only sent to the members of legislative assembly (MLAs) electronically but were also put up outside their residences late at night on Tuesday.

Jaipur| Show-cause notices have been served to 19 rebels from Congress including former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot by the Rajasthan Assembly on the petition of chief whip Mahesh Joshi, according to Speaker CP Joshi.

The notices were not only sent to the members of legislative assembly (MLAs) electronically but were also put up outside their residences late at night on Tuesday.

Hindustan Times, in its report, has claimed to have seen the notices that have asked the MLAs to respond by 1 pm on Friday.

Speaker CP Joshi said that the assembly would take a legal view of the future course of action depending upon the replies.

The Congress party has started the process of disqualifying rebel leaders in Rajasthan after removing Sachin Pilot from the post of deputy CM and state president of Congress. In accordance with that, the Assembly speaker on Wednesday issued a notice to 19 disgruntled MLAs, including Pilot, on the complaint of Congress. They have been asked for an answer by Friday.

The notice has asked why he should not be disqualified for anti-party activities and not attending two Legislature Party meetings of Congress MLAs. Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot once again said he was not joining the BJP. He said, “I am still a member of Congress. Some people are associating my name with BJP. An attempt is being made to spoil my image.”

Pilot told India Today that he was not angry with Chief Minister Gehlot. He did not even ask for any special power from Gehlot. He simply wanted the promises made to the public to be fulfilled. When he was asked why did he rebel? Why not discuss inside the party? In response, he said that there was no stage of discussion inside the party.
