Another Blow to RJD, Lalu Yadav convicted in the fifth Fodder Scam case

The fodder scam case was related to the Dumka treasury from which Rs. 3.13 crore were withdrawn between December 1995 and January 1996.

The RJD chief and Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav does not seem to get any relief. The jailed politician who has been convicted in several fodder scam cases was convicted in the fourth case in connection with the same scam.

Lalu Prasad Yadav was recently hospitalised after he complained of bad health. He went to court straight from the hospital.

Lalu Yadav was accused in a case of fraudulent withdrawal of money from Chaibasa treasury during the 1990s in a multi-crore fodder scam. Apparently, as much as 33.67 crores were withdrawn from the Chaibasa treasury deceitfully. However, the court also convicted former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Misra in the fodder scam case.

This time, the case was related to the Dumka treasury from which Rs. 3.13 crore government funds had been withdrawn between December 1995 and January 1996. However, in this case, former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra was acquitted. The quantum of punishment will be announced on 21,22 and 23rd March.

In the Chaibasa treasury case, the Ranchi special CBI court awarded Lalu Yadav five years of imprisonment in January. There are two more cases against Lalu Prasad Yadav in the Fodder scam.
