Rs. 1 Crore For Families of Health Personnel If They Die Fighting Covid-19: Kejriwal

“If anyone loses their life while serving coronavirus patients, whether sanitation workers, doctors or nurses, their family will be provided Rs 1 crore,” Kejriwal said.

New Delhi| The families of health personnel will get compensation of Rs. 1 Crore if they die while handling the Covid-19 cases, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced today referring to the health workers as “no less than soldiers”.

“If anyone loses their life while serving coronavirus patients, whether sanitation workers, doctors or nurses, their family will be provided Rs 1 crore as a mark of respect to their service. Whether they are from the private or government sector… it doesn’t matter,” Arvind Kejriwal told reporters.

The confirmed cases of coronavirus in India crossed 1600 mark as the Markaz Nizamuddin in Delhi came up as a new hotspot for the deadly virus. Around 128 people from the congregation organized in Delhi have said to be infected with the virus, with 24 of them testing positive in Delhi.

Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain informed that around 303 people evacuated from the said area have symptoms who will undergo the test for the Covid-19.

Earlier, Delhi CM Kejriwal had said that many people are coming ahead to help the government in this crisis.

“We don’t need monetary help. We need PPEs, ventilators and testing kits. We need most of them for the doctors and health personnel fighting on the front against the disease,” Kejriwal had said.

Today, CM Kejriwal announced the compensation of Rs. 1 Core for families of the health professionals who may lose their lives during the fight against the coronavirus.
