Sachin Pilot Meets Sonia Gandhi Amid Rajasthan Cabinet Reshuffle

Jaipur : Congress leader Sachin Pilot met with Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi at 10, Janpath, on November 12. He stated that “It’s essential to form government in 2023 again,” after meeting. This meet comes a day after Congress President Sonia Gandhi Met Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot regarding a more expansive, accommodating cabinet in the state.

“Less than two years are left for Rajasthan Assembly polls, we want to strengthen the organisation for it. It’s essential to form the government in 2023 again. The party will take decisions keeping experience, creditability, regional balance, caste combinations in mind,” Pilot said after the meeting.

Ashok Gehlot met Gandhi regarding the overdue reshuffling of cabinet. After almost a 45-minute meeting with the party chief, Pilot spoke to the reporters and said that the Congress is holding discussions on the upcoming Rajasthan polls and she is taking feedback on what needs to be done.

As per reports, Gehlot is being encouraged to resolve a persistent feud in the party, with top Congress leaders urging him to include Pilot’s supporters in the cabinet. Further debunking the reports of a power struggle within the state Congress, he said that the party is working collectively and there is “no you and me”. “There are few vacancies in the cabinet and it will be filled up accordingly by the high command considering relevant factors”, Pilot added.

On Wednesday, Gehlot had met with Congress general secretaries Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and KC Venugopal in the national capital.

Earlier on Thursday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met AICC interim president Sonia Gandhi and held discussions over the impending topics of a cabinet reshuffle, expansion, and appointments in Rajasthan. Addressing the media after his meeting with the high command, he informed about briefing Gandhi about the situation in the state.

Apart from that, sources have informed about a blueprint that has been prepared for the cabinet expansion.
