In a violent face-off between Indian and Chinese forces on Monday night in Galwan valley of Ladakh, 20 Indian soldiers had to lose their lives.
New Delhi| Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should step forward and explain to the nation how China managed to grab Indian territory and why 20 soldiers had to sacrifice their lives for the nation in Ladakh. In her 3 minute video, Gandhi posed several difficult questions for the Prime Minister and also assured that the Congress party stands with the armed forces and government.
In a violent face-off between Indian and Chinese forces on Monday night in Galwan valley of Ladakh, 20 Indian soldiers had to lose their lives. There have been reports of casualties on the Chinese side as well but there has been no official announcement regarding the same. This is reportedly the first instance in five decades when there has been a loss of lives on the LAC with China.
Gandhi said Prime Minister Modi needs to say what the situation at the spot is right now.
“Are our soldiers or their commanders still missing? How many of our soldiers and their commanders are seriously injured? How much of our land has been occupied by China and in which areas? What is the government’s thought, strategy, and plan to resolve this situation?” said Sonia Gandhi, who has been appointed as an interim president of Congress party after Rahul Gandhi tendered his resignation.
Earlier today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi posted a video on Twitter urging Prime Minister Modi to come out clean on the issue of India-China tensions in Ladakh and at least 20 Indian soldiers losing their lives in a violent face-off with Chinese troops. Gandhi also assured PM Modi that the entire country is standing with him in this crisis situation.
“Two days ago 20 Indian soldiers were killed. They were snatched by their families. China has snatched our land from us. Where are you, Mr Prime Minister? Why are you hiding? Come out of your hiding. The whole nation is standing with you. Don’t be afraid. Come out and take the nation into confidence. We are all with you,” the Congress leader said in his video.
