“Standing With Them Until They Get Justice” : Rahul Gandhi Meets Family of Minor Rape Victim

A case of murder after alleged rape of a minor Dalit girl in a cremation ground in Delhi’s Cantt area has shaken the national capital. On Tuesday, the matter was even raised in the Rajya Sabha. On Wednesday, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived to meet the victim’s family. Rahul reached the site where family of the victim was protesting against Delhi Police. However, due to overcrowding, he had to sit in the car. He then spoke to the parents of the victim.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also meet the grieving family today. Since Tuesday, some locals have been protesting outside the cremation ground in protest of the incident. Rahul Gandhi had tweeted about the incident yesterday and said that the daughter of a Dalit is also the daughter of the country. Police, on the other hand, have arrested four people, including the accused priest, in the case.

On the other hand, CM Arvind Kejriwal described the incident as extremely shameful and demanded that the culprits be hanged as soon as possible. The CM had tweeted, “Murder after brutality with a 9-year-old innocent in Delhi is extremely shameful. The law and order situation in Delhi needs to be rectified. The guilty should be sentenced to death as soon as possible. I am going to meet the victim’s family tomorrow, I will do my best to help the family in this fight for justice.”

Minor Raped In National Capital

A dalit minor was killed after allegedly raping her at a cremation ground in Delhi Cantt area. She was then cremated without informing the family. Delhi Police said on Tuesday that a minor girl was cremated at Old Nangal crematorium on Sunday night without the consent of her parents. Based on the mother’s statement, an FIR was registered and the priest of the cremation ground was arrested. The FSL and the crime team took samples. The mother alleges that the girl was murdered after being raped. The police have registered a case under POCSO Act, SC / ST Act and other relevant sections based on the mother’s statement.
