Team Pilot MLAs Not Found In Manesar Resort, SOG Team Returns Empty-Handed

However, the SOG complained that they did not receive full cooperation from Haryana police and no MLAs were found in the resort.

Manesar| The Special Operations Group (SOG) team of Rajasthan police, which entered one of the two resorts in Manesar, Haryana, where 18 rebel Congress MLAs along with Sachin Pilot are kept, had to return empty-handed on Friday after finding no rebel legislators there, said sources.

The Haryana police had initially stopped the SOG led by IPS Vikas Sharma but later allowed them to go. Possessing a warrant against him, the SOG team had gone to record the voice sample of MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma.

Two audio clips that allegedly indicate a plot to bring down the Congress government in Rajasthan surfaced on social media and TV channels earlier. The Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) team went there as part of its investigation into the two audio clips.

However, the SOG complained that they did not receive full cooperation from Haryana police and no MLAs were found in the resort.

Earlier, the SOG had filed a case against Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Congress MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma and BJP leader Sanjay Jain. An FIR was filed following a complaint by Congress chief whip Mahesh Joshi.

Shekhawat clarified that the voice in the audiotape is not his. He said that he is ready for any inquiry. At the same time, Rajasthan BJP President Satish Poonia said that what is happening in the state’s politics will be called shameful. “The Chief Minister’s office is trying to tarnish the image of the leaders through fake audio. The Union Minister is also being dragged into this matter,” he said.

The Congress held a press conference outside the Fairmont Hotel where Congress MLAs are lodged on Friday after the audio of horse-trading in Rajasthan was exposed. Party Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotsara were present for the Press Conference.

Surjewala said that the audiotapes prove BJP was trying to buy the loyalty of MLAs for Rs 25-35 crores. “The role of BJP leaders in this is under suspicion. From the tapes which have come out yesterday evening and till date, one thing is clear that the BJP attempted to topple the Gehlot government and buy the MLAs,” Surjewala said.

Surjewala also said that the investigation into the audio tapes should be started. “If it seems that the Union Minister can influence the investigation, then a warrant should be issued against him and he should be arrested,” he said.
