Unity is essential for us all: PM Modi

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the virtual event of Gurpurab celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurudwara Lakhpat Sahib in Gujarat’s Kutch stated that ‘unity is essential for all.’ He stated that said there is a need to ensure that nobody is able to harm the unity of the country and that it remains secure.

Addressing the video conference he said that the dangers against which the Gurus alerted the people continue to exist even today, and hence it is important for everyone to be cautious and ensure that the country remains secure.

This appeal from Modi to the Sikh community comes two days after a blast took place in Punjab’s Ludhiana district court complex.

“It is our responsibility to ensure that in such an important period, nobody hurts our dreams and the unity of the country. To achieve the dreams for which our Gurus lived and sacrificed their lives, we should all remain united. Unity is essential for us all,” he said.

“The dangers against which the Gurus alerted us remain the same even today, so we have to be alert and also ensure that the country remains secure. I am sure that with the blessings of Guru Nanak Dev ji, we will surely fulfil our commitment, and the country will reach new heights,” he said.

In Ludhina Court Blast case, Punjab Director General of Police Siddharth Chattopadhyaya has stated that in the course of the investigation, they have found links to Khalistani elements, gangsters, and drug smugglers, into the blast at the Ludhiana Court complex on Thursday.

“We have found that there is a link to Khalistani elements, gangsters, and drug smugglers,” he said while briefing the media.

“We are facing challenges from terrorism and narcotics. Narco organized crime and terrorism are a dangerous cocktail. The case in Ludhiana is one such case,” he said.

He said that the case was unraveled in 24 hours. “We found several leads from the spot. We found tattered clothes and a sim card, a mobile, and a tattoo on the arm,” the DGP said.

Giving details of the suspect in the Ludhiana blast case, he said, “The deceased was carrying explosives — which was the initial assessment and turned out to be correct. Within 24 hours, we found the main accused. He was arrested in 2017.”
