Will HC Grant Bail or Will Aryan be Jailed?

Mumbai : On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court will hear the bail plea of Aryan Khan. The court has three days to decide on Aryan’s bail plea before it shuts for the Diwali break. If no bail is granted today, Aryan would have to stay in jail till November 15.

The NCB will present its argument in the Bombay High Court today. Yesterday, Mukul Rohatgi argued for Aryan Khan’s bail in the high court. He had said, “”When there is no recovery or consumption, then what evidence will I [Aryan Khan] tamper with?”

Rohatgi also read out a statement by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede where he alleged that he was being targeted by Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik. “All this has changed today saying that I [Aryan Khan am involved. I am not involved in this,” said Mukul Rohatgi.

“This boy [Aryan Khan] has roots in society. At the end of it, where are we today? What NCB may use are chats. Today, do you put a person in for over 20 days without anything? You have seen his phone. This case has attracted so much attention because of his parents or else such cases come by the dozen,” argued Mukul Rohatgi.

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan khan in court hearing on October 20 said that he was ‘falsely implicated in drug bust case.’ In his bail plea hearing at Bombay High Court he contended that no contraband material was seized from him and there was no evidence to suggest he consumed drugs.

Aryan Khan also argued that the 6gm of “charas” seized from his friend Arbaaz Merchant was meant to be consumed, and considering that it was a small quantity, the offence can only attract a maximum punishment of up to a year’s jail or fine. Hence, he should be released on bail, he pleaded.

The bail plea said there was nothing on record to suggest that Aryan Khan was connected to the sale, purchase or trafficking of any narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances.

Aryan Khan moved the high court after a special court on October 20 rejected his bail plea, citing prima facie material indicating that “he was in contact with persons dealing with prohibited narcotic substances”.
