With 90 Lakhs stuck in PMC bank, ex-Jet Airways employee dies of cardiac arrest

Reportedly, the deceased Sanjay Gulati had a deposit of Rs 90 lakh in PMC bank. Due to the ban, he was unable to withdraw his money.

 

Mumbai| The PMC Bank account holders have been going through difficult times since the RBI put restrictions on the bank. Account-holders are demonstrating at bank branches and outside BJP offices seeking intervention from the government. Several account holders have lost their life savings.

Sanjay Gulati an account holder of PMC bank died of a cardiac attack on Monday. Due to deteriorating health, Gulati was admitted to the hospital, where he died. Gulati lived in Taporewala Gardens, Oshiwara area of ​​Mumbai. He was protesting outside the court in Fort area of Mumbai on Monday. Upon returning home at 3.30 pm, his health deteriorated. He was later hospitalized, where he breathed last.

Reportedly, the deceased Sanjay Gulati had a deposit of Rs 90 lakh in his bank. Due to the ban, he was unable to withdraw his money. Gulati is survived by his two children and his wife.

Gulati was working with Jet Airways earlier. However, after Jet Airways went bankrupt, he was fired from the job. With no jobs, the family used bank deposits to run the household. A relative of Gulati also said that the deceased was going through a difficult time as he was using the money for the treatment of his specially-abled child. However, due to RBI restrictions, he could not withdraw money for the last several days which stressed him.

The RBI increased the withdrawal limit from Rs 25 thousand to Rs 40 thousand. Due to the loan scam, the RBI last month imposed a 6-month ban on PMC and fixed the withdrawal limit for customers at Rs 1000. Later this limit was increased to 10 thousand and then 25 thousand.
