You Want Us To Ban Pakistan Industries? SC To UP Government

Air Pollution

New Delhi : The Supreme Court on Friday over the air pollution issue questioned the Uttar Pradesh Government, do they want a ban on Pakistani Industries? Kumar had stated in the court that the industries of Uttar Pradesh plays no role in the Delhi’s Air quality. “UP is on down wind, air is mostly coming from Pakistan,” Kumar argued.

The Uttar Pradesh Government also questioned the reasoning behind the behind the order to close the industries as this would affect the sugarcane and dairy industries. The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Area’s (CAQM) had earlier directed industries to work only for eight hours.

The Special Bench which is being headed by the Chief Justice NV Ramana  also took a note of the measures taken by the Commission for Air Quality Management in the national capital and the adjourning areas, on Thursday. He also asked the Centre, Delhi and states to follow all the directions.

The top court, on Thursday, said nothing was happening on ground to control the deteriorating air quality in Delhi-NCR and directed the Centre and Delhi government to come out with suggestions to control the pollution within 24 hours.
