Andhra Pradesh: Stone Hurled At Chandrababu Naidu’s Convoy In Nandigama And One Injured

A stone was hurled at the convoy of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N Chandrababu on Friday, in which his Chief Security Officer (CSO) was injured, said police.

The incident took place at 6:30 pm at Nandigama in the NTR district. According to NTR district Police Commissioner Kanti Rana Tata, one stone was thrown by unknown miscreants at Naidu’s road show.

His Chief Security Officer Madhav was injured in the incident.

“Incident took place at 6:30 pm. One stone was thrown by unknown miscreants. CSO Madhav was injured. A probe is on,” said the CP of the NTR district.

Meanwhile, Jaggaiahpet Police is on alert after the stone pelting incident.

Deputy Commissioner Mary Prashanthi and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Srinivasulu are inspecting Jaggaiahpet town with additional forces.

Police special forces under the command of DCP Mary Prashanthi inspected the road where Chandrababu’s road show was held.

Notably, Naidu is the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh after it was divided. In the 2019 assembly elections, the YSR Congress Party won with a landslide victory.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Friday said that all angles and conspiracies will be investigated into the murder of Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri in Amritsar.

Amritsar:  Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Friday said that all angles and conspiracies will be investigated into the murder of Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri in Amritsar.

Sudhir Suri was shot dead on Friday outside Gopal Mandir on Majitha Road, one of the busiest places in the city, where he and some other leaders of the party were holding a protest. He was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

The Punjab DGP further said that the accused has been arrested and a case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered.

“It is an unfortunate incident and we condemn it strongly. I have come to review the situation on the spot where the unfortunate incident happened. The assailant has been arrested on the spot and an FIR under Section 302 has been against the accused.

The investigation is being done. All the angles including conspiracies behind the murder and all those who are behind the incident are being probed,” said DGP Yadav.

He said that the situation is under control and appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony.
“Media has been appealed not to spread fake and incomplete information or action will be taken against them under IT ACT,” he said.

Replying to a question on the involvement of Khalistan, Yadav said, “It is an early stage and we will get to the bottom of everything.”

He said that Suri’s family will be provided police security adding that the police priority is to maintain peace and harmony.

“Investigation has just started and I assure that investigation will be carried out in a transparent manner,” he added.

The DGP said that the police take the evidence-based investigations forward into the matter.
A Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri died after being shot at in Amritsar.

The firing took place near Gopal Mandir in Amritsar during an agitation. Soon after the incident, Suri was rushed to a hospital where he died. Police arrived at the spot and arrested the accused. Police also recovered the weapons.Five bullets were fired at Suri, who was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Sudhir Suri was shot outside Gopal Mandir, Amritsar during some agitation. He sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to hospital and died. The accused has been arrested. His weapons are recovered,” Arun Pal Singh, Commissioner of Police, Amritsar said.
