Another Encounter Erupts In Jammu And Kashmir, 4th In 3 Days

A new encounter took place today in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in a soldier being injured. This is the fourth encounter in the Union Territory in the last three days and the second one in Doda since yesterday.

Terrorists attacked pilgrims on June 9 in Reasi, killing nine people. Yesterday, there was another encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Kathua region.

According to the report, This morning, a senior police officer said that a group of three to four terrorists was in the higher areas of Doda, and a search operation was underway to find them in the difficult terrain.

On Tuesday night, five soldiers from the Rashtriya Rifles and a special police officer (SPO) were injured when terrorists attacked a joint checkpost in the upper areas of Chattergalla on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot road in the hilly district.

Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range, Shridhar Patil, told reporters, “Over the past few days, we received information about terrorist movements from the intelligence branch of the district police. As a result, temporary posts manned by the army and police were set up in the higher areas, along with the

checkpoints on the interstate road.”

Reinforcements have been sent to the area to strengthen the cordon. This was the second terror-related incident in Doda in the last 24 hours and the fourth in three days in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier on Tuesday evening, five Rashtriya Rifles personnel and a Special Police Officer were injured in a terrorist attack at Chattargalla pass.

Later on Tuesday night, security forces killed a suspected Pakistani terrorist in Kathua district. The encounter continued overnight, and on Wednesday, a second terrorist was also killed. A CRPF soldier was killed in the action. On Sunday, terrorists attacked a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi, causing it to veer off the road and fall into a deep gorge, killing nine people and injuring 41 others.
