Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has approved financial assistance ranging from ₹7,500 to ₹12,500 for 9,001 families impacted by the recent oil spill in north Chennai. Additionally, 787 affected boats will receive ₹10,000 each. The spill resulted from cyclone Michaung-induced rains and floods, affecting fishing villages and disrupting livelihoods. The government has swiftly allocated ₹8.68 crore for direct bank transfers to the affected families to address the aftermath.
