Congress Leaders Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Pratibha Singh besides Mukesh Agnihotri are now top contenders for CMs Post
Shimla: On December 8 Congress won the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections and managed to dethrone the BJP’s “double-engine sarkar.” Congress has won 48 of 60 seats. The Himachal Pradesh Congress has called for a Legislature Party meeting on December 9 at 3 PM. The meeting will be held at Congress Headquarters Rajiv Bhawan in Shimla. The conference’s agenda is to decide on the Chief Minister of Himachal.
Senior Election Supervisor Bhupesh Baghel, in-charge Rajeev Shukla, and Bhupendra Singh Hooda will reach Shimla around 1 pm today.
Congress Leaders Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Pratibha Singh besides Mukesh Agnihotri are now top contenders for CMs Post. Ashok Kumari, Kaul Singh Thakur, and Thakur Ram Lal were also on the list but they have lost the elections.
At the party meeting, Congress State President Pratibha Singh will be present too. After a dialogue with all the MLAs, the Congress leaders will decide who will be the Chief Minister of Himachal. 40 Congress MLAs will meet at Rajiv Bhavan in Shimla.
The party had planned the meeting at Chandigarh earlier. A hotel for their stay was also ready in Mohali. But the plan was changed after the party won 40 seats.

BJP lost to Congress in Himachal Pradesh. On this Prime Minister, Narendra Modi while addressing the Party workers at the BJP office in Delhi on December 8 said, “We lost in Himachal by a very small margin but we are extremely thankful to the people of Himachal Pradesh. Will raise every issue related to the state.”
Also on BJP’s win over Gujarat, PM expressed his happiness. This time BJP has broken all the records in the state by winning 155 seats. On this achievement, PM Modi said, “I had told the people of Gujarat that this time Narendra’s record should be broken. I promised that Narendra will work hard so that Bhupendra can break Narendra’s record. Gujarat has broken all records by giving the biggest mandate to BJP in the history of Gujarat.”
