Eighth Indian Navy Veteran Yet To Return From Qatar: MEA

On Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) affirmed that Commander Purnendu Tiwari, the eighth Indian Navy veteran, has not returned from Qatar yet. Despite the release of all eight individuals on death row in Qatar announced on February 12, Commander Tiwari remains in Qatar due to unspecified obligations. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, “The eighth Indian navy veteran from Qatar is yet to return to India. He has certain requirements to fulfil.”

Government Announces ₹24,420Cr Subsidy For Summer Crop Fertilizers

On Thursday, the Union Cabinet endorsed the Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for phosphatic and potassium (P&K) fertilizers for the upcoming Kharif season. The tentative budgetary allocation for this scheme is approximately ₹24,420 crore. Subsidy rates for nitrogen (N), phosphatic (P), potassic (K), and sulphur (S) stand at ₹47.02 per kg, ₹28.72 per kg (₹20.82 per kg in the 2023 rabi season), ₹2.38 per kg, and ₹1.89 per kg, respectively, as disclosed by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur post the Cabinet meeting.
