On Saturday, ISRO launched the INSAT-3DS meteorological satellite from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, using a Geosynchronous Launch Vehicle (GSLV) rocket. The mission’s objective is to ensure the continuation of services provided by the existing operational INSAT-3D and INSAT-3DR satellites. It prioritizes improved meteorological observations, land and ocean surface monitoring for weather forecasting and disaster alerts, and the provision of Satellite Aided Search and Rescue Services.
