Jio, India’s top telecom operator, will raise mobile service rates by 12-27% starting July 3 and limit unlimited free 5G services for customers. This rate hike, the first in about two-and-a-half years, comes after the recent spectrum auction, as anticipated by industry experts. Jio, with over 47 crore subscribers and a 41% market share, is expected to be followed by similar rate hikes from Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea.
