“Made To Sign Blank Paper”: Sandeshkhali Woman Accuse BJP For Fake Complain

In a surprising turn in the Sandeshkhali sexual assault case, one of the victims claimed that people associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coerced her into signing a blank paper which wrongly accused TMC members of raping her. She later withdrew her rape complaint.

Following this, the woman filed a new complaint at the Sandeshkhali police station, citing threats and social isolation after retracting the rape accusation against TMC workers. Her accusation sparked a heated political argument between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the BJP, who were already in conflict over the incident of violence against women allegedly involving TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh and his associates in Bengal’s Sandeshkhali.

Speaking to the media, the woman claimed that she and other women only intended to report their grievances about not receiving payment under the 100-day Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act MGNREGA job scheme. However, they were instructed to sign a blank paper, falsely stating that they had been sexually assaulted.

She alleged, “Nothing such as rape happened to us. We are not involved in those things. We are poor people, and we work hard to earn a living. Mampi trapped us by getting us to sign on a white paper. We want her to be punished and relieved of this issue.

Meanwhile, the TMC, previously facing allegations against local party leaders for rape, land grab, and extortion, is now trying to leverage the woman’s accusations. They have accused the BJP of fabricating stories to tarnish the ruling party’s reputation for political advantage.

According to reports, TMC sources stated they would file a complaint with the Election Commission against BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari and others. They claimed that a leader from the saffron party had purportedly admitted on camera that the rape accusations in the Sandeshkhali incident were fabricated.

The Trinamool Congress emphasized on Saturday a video purportedly showing a BJP leader stating that women had filed sexual harassment complaints under the direction of the Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari. Adhikari denied the accusations, dismissing the video as a “TMC conspiracy.” Additionally, the BJP brought attention to another video, where the Leader featured in the TMC clip claimed that his voice had been “tampered with.”

After the Sandeshkhali sexual assault case, the BJP is in trouble. They’re accused of forcing victims to file false complaints. As these accusations come out, it’s clear that we need honesty and responsibility in politics.
