Maharashtra Government Signs MoUs Worth Rs 3.53 Lakh Crore in Davos

During the ongoing World Economic Forum summit in Davos, the Maharashtra Government signed MoUs worth Rs 3,10,850 crore while additional MoUs of the order of Rs 42,825 crore are being inked on Thursday. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde who is heading a high level delegation announced in his Facebook address from Davos. He added that MoUs of Rs 3,53,675 crore will be inked by tomorrow.

CM thanked the state by saying that global industries and investors have increased their confidence in the state as the industries have shown interest in investing 1 lakh crores. Due to these proposed investments about 2 lakh jobs will be created.

‘’Our focus is to speed up the actual implementation of these MoUs, not just on paper. The number of MoUs signed this year are more than those inked last year. The image of Maharashtra as a people-oriented state with industrialization, skilled manpower and quick decision-making has been realized here,’’ said Shinde.

On the very first day of the Davos conference (January 16) investment agreements of Rs 1.02 lakh crore were signed with 6 industries. It will create 26 thousand jobs. On January 17, investment agreements worth Rs 2,08,850 crore with 8 industries were signed which will create 1,51,900 jobs. He added MoUs worth Rs 42,825 crore will be signed with six industries on Thursday that will lead to creation of 13,000 jobs.

MOU Details

January 16 – Inox Air Products 25 thousand crores (5 thousand jobs), BC Jindal 41 thousand crores (5 thousand jobs), JSW Steel 25 thousand crores (15 thousand jobs), AB in Bev 600 crores (150 jobs), Godrej Agrovet 1000 crores (650 jobs) US based data company 10 thousand crores (200 jobs).

January 17 – Adani Group 50 thousand crores (500 jobs), Swiss Indian Chamber of Commerce 1158 crores (500 jobs), Indian Jewelry Park 50 thousand crores (1 lakh jobs), Web Works 5 thousand crores (100 jobs), Indospace in logistics, ESR , KSH, Pragati, together 3500 crores (15 thousand jobs), Conglomerate company in natural resources 20 thousand crores (4 thousand jobs)

Mahapreet signed contracts worth 56 thousand crores for green power projects. They are as follows Rs 4,000 crores with US-based Predictions, 8,000 crores in Europe’s Hero Future Energy, Rs 40,000 crores in Germany’s Green Energy 3000, 4,000 crores with VHM Oman.

The following MoUs will be signed on January 18.

Surjagad Steel 10 thousand crores (5 thousand jobs), Kalika Steel 900 crores (800 jobs), Million Steel 250 crores (300 jobs), Hyundai Motors 7 thousand crores (4 thousand jobs), of Qatar 2075 crores (400 jobs) including ALU Tech, CTRL s (ctr s) 8600 crores (2500 jobs)

Apart from this, various industries have shown investment interest of Rs 1 lakh crore, which includes Arcelor Nippon Mittal as well as industries from Saudi Arabia, Oman.
