Ahead of the Ram Navami celebrations in West Bengal, politics erupted over the celebration. PM Modi targeted the ruling TMC and proposed an alternative route for the procession. PM Modi said that TMC is trying its best to stop Ram Navami celebrations in Bengal. CM Mamata Banerjee, on the other hand, said that the BJP would be responsible if any riots broke out on the day of the celebration.
This comes a day after the Calcutta High Court granted permission to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad to hold a procession on Ram Navami. However, the state government highlighted unrest during last year’s procession and proposed an alternative route for the procession.
