K Kavitha, leader of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter, is accused by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of colluding with top Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia to manipulate liquor policies for personal gain. Allegedly, Rs 100 crore was exchanged for these favours.
The ED asserts that illegal funds sourced from liquor wholesalers’ kickbacks were funnelled to AAP through corrupt practices. Kavitha, 45, was arrested in Hyderabad on March 16, and subsequent searches were conducted across 245 locations nationwide. She remains in ED custody until March 23.
