Supreme Court Orders Chandigarh Poll Recount

On Thursday, the Supreme Court, in a verdict headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, announced a recount of votes from the recent Chandigarh mayoral election. The apex court ordered the inclusion of the eight ballots marked “invalid” by Returning Officer Anil Masih. The bench, presided over by the Chief Justice, scrutinized these ballots and criticized Masih’s actions. BJP removed Masih from its Minority Cell following the incident.
