Supreme Court To Hear VVPAT Verification Petition On April 16

The Supreme Court scheduled for April 16 the hearing of petitions requesting verification of votes through Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT). VVPAT allows voters to confirm their votes independently. Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta will address all related petitions, including those concerning Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), next week.

In his letter to Tamil Nadu’s Chief Electoral Officer, Saravanan alleges harassment by Aruna, who claims to scrutinise Raja’s expenditures excessively and manipulate accounting to benefit Raja, causing Saravanan trouble for not supporting this bias.
