According to reports, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee was suspended for a day from the parliamentary committee on Waqf due to unruly conduct. A Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting on the Waqf Bill on Tuesday took a violent turn when Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee injured his hand after smashing a glass water bottle.

The incident took place during a heated argument between Banerjee and BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay. TMC’s Banerjee, who was speaking out of turn, used offensive language, leading to a war of words between both leaders.
