Mumbai: The engine of Vande Bharat Express was damaged after it collided with a herd of buffaloes. The collision took place in Gujarat today. On October 1 the train was flagged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The train had left from Mumbai this morning and was heading to Gandhinagar. The incident occurred around 11 am between Vatva and Maninagar, ahead of Ahmedabad.

The train’s front portion suffered minor damages in the accident. In the video, it can be seen that after colliding with buffaloes a worker is removing the front portion of the locomotive.

According to railway officials in this accident, four buffaloes were killed.
“There was a turn along the path near Vatva that led to a blind spot area. The train was traveling at a speed of about 100 kmph. The front portion of the train made up of fibre was damaged,” the official said.
After the tracks were cleared the train resumed.
