West Bengal: NCW Asks Accused To Appear In Court

The National Commission for Women has taken notice of an incident in North Dinajpur, West Bengal, where a man and woman were publicly thrashed over alleged illicit relations. NCW expressed concern over rising violence against women in the state and announced a hearing on July 4. In a post on X, BJP chief JP Nadda condemned the incident and slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government in the state.
