Former Union Minister Sinha, being 84 is yet to decide on what role he wants to play in public life going ahead.
Mumbai: Yashwant Sinha who has been the Union Minister of India has recently lost the presidential election as an opposition candidate, today said that he will not join any political party and will remain independent for now. Yashwant Sinha was the joint nominee for the non-BJP parties such as the Congress and TMC.
“I will remain independent and will not join any other party,” Mr. Sinha, who had quit as Trinamool Congress national vice-president ahead of the presidential election, told PTI.
The 84-year-old Sinha also said that he is yet to decide on what he will be doing ahead in life for people. “I have to see what role I will play (in public life), how active I will be. I am 84 now, so these are issues; I have to see how long I can carry on,” the former Finance Minister said.

When asked if he is in contact with TMC leader he replied that, nobody has spoken to him nor he has met anybody recently.Further he said that due to some personal reasons he was in contact with a TMC leader.
Yashwant Sinha, a bitter BJP critic, joined Trinamool in March 2021, days before the West Bengal Assembly elections. He resigned from the BJP in 2018.
