CJI DY Chandrachud said there was “nothing wrong” in PM Modi’s visit to his home on Ganpati Puja. Both PM Narendra Modi and CJI Chandrachud over the former’s visit.
On Monday Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for attending Ganesh puja this year at his residence stating that, there is a need for a “sense of maturity in political sphere” on such issues.
The CJI stated during a Monday Indian Express event, “The PM came to my house for Ganpati Puja. Since there are ongoing interactions between the administration and the judiciary, even at the social level, there is nothing at all wrong with them. We get together on occasions like Republic Day and Rashtrapati Bhavan.
“The prime minister and the ministers are speaking with us. This discussion is about life and society in general, not the cases we determine,” CJI added.
