“130 Crore Indians Will Inspire The World”: PM’s Letter To Citizens On 1 Yr of Modi Govt 2.0

Modi govt was sworn-in for a second consecutive term on May 30, 2019, after leading BJP-led NDA a huge majority in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

New Delhi| Prime Minister has written an open letter to the citizens of India as Modi govt completes one year of its second term. PM in his letter noted several initiatives, achievements and big decisions taken by his administration, while expressing confidence of victory in the nation’s fight against COVID-19.

“Today presents an opportunity for me to bow to you and honour you for your commitment to India and Indian democracy,” PM Modi writes.

Narendra Modi says, “In the year 2014, the people voted for a big change; you voted to change the policy and system (niti and reeti).” He further says that in the first five years, the nation saw freeing itself from the swamp of inactivity and corruption.

India’s development rose significantly, he said, and the dignity of the poor was improved. He also recalled the 2016 surgical strike on terror camps across the LoC and the 2019 airstrike to bomb a terror training site deep inside Pakistan.

“In 2019, your blessings meant dreaming big for the country, for high hopes and for meeting the aspirations,” Saffron party leader says.

“In the last year, some major decisions have been in discussion, and that is why it is natural for these actions to stay in our memory,” PM Modi said referring to the scrapping of Article 370, Ayodhya verdict, the ‘triple talaq’ and the citizenship law.

“I would surely say that in the last one year, each day round the clock, the government has worked with full awareness, sensitivity, and has taken decisions,” BJP leader said.

He also mentions the recent economic package of 20 lakh crore, PM calls it “a big step” towards ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ campaign.

On the COVID-19 crisis, PM Narendra Modi says: “The global pandemic has brought about a crisis situation, but at the same time, for us Indians, this is also the time for determination. We have to remember that no calamity, no crisis can determine the present or future of 130 crore Indians. We will decide on our present and, the future too.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed off as “Pradhan Sewak” or “prime servitor”.
