Srinagar | The plans of Sajad Lone-led group of legislators to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir suffered another setback after another rebel MLA of Peoples Democratic Party returned to party folds on Tuesday.
Sources said that MLA Noorbad Abdul Majeed Paddar called on party president and former CM Mehbooba Mufti at her Gupkhar residence Tuesday. In an hour-long meeting, Paddar is said to have reiterated his stand to strengthen the party at the grassroot level. “All the misunderstandings were cleared”, they said.
Paddar is the second legislator of PDP to return to party folds in last few days. MLA Javaid Baig attended the party meeting held on Monday. Padder told a Kashmir based newspaper that he had never left the party and the issues raised by them had been addressed.
“The people who had high jacked the PDP have been shown their place. I talked to Mehbooba ji today on phone about the meeting. I was supposed to attend the meeting but due to some reason couldn’t do so,” Padder had told the newspaper last evening. Padder said, “He and other rebel lawmakers were never against Mehbooba as the leader but were against nepotism and “family raj”, which had now been “nipped in the bud”. With two legislators back in PDP the rebel group has lost all the hopes to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir.
