Ajit Pawar to not contest in 2019 Lok Sabha election ?

Mumbai | Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar is not likely to contest upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

According to sources, the former deputy chief minister of Maharashtra won’t be contesting the upcoming polls and would rather focus on the state assembly polls which are likely to happen after the Lok Sabha polls. Earlier it was rumoured that Ajit will be contesting from the Shirur or Maaval constituency of Maharashtra.

The sources further added that NCP chief Sharad Pawar will be contesting from Maadha, Supriya Sule will be contesting from Baramati and Praful Patel from the Gondia seat. While Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar will be contesting from the Maaval seat.

Sharad Pawar earlier told News agency PTI that the NCP or Congress have finalised the seat sharing agreement without divulging details of how many seats each party will be contesting.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Nationalist Congress party contested on 21 seats but managed to win only 4 seats.
