Bhopal | Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargia on Thursday received a show cause notice from the party’s disciplinary committee over thrashing a municipal worker with a cricket bat during a demolition drive in Indore.
The notice comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the BJP parliamentary board meeting expressed anguish over the actions of Akash Vijayvargiya, saying that such incidents will not be tolerated. Akash Vijayvargiya-son of BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya is currently serving as Indore MLA.
Without naming Vijayvargiya, PM Modi said, “Be it, son of an MP or a Minister, such actions are unacceptable.” Reportedly, PM Modi was informed of the incident on the very day it happened. Now, after seven days PM Modi broke the silence on the matter and gave an earful to the BJP leaders.
He said, “There is no place in the party for the ego, misbehavior, and arrogance.” PM Modi said that such incidents will not be tolerated and should be stopped immediately.
