The Modi-Mamata meet comes in the light of the recent snub by Mamata Banerjee to opposition parties declaring that she will fight the govt alone on CAA and NRC.
New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Kolkata on a two-day visit today. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, today he will dedicate four historic buildings to people, which have recently been repaired. On Saturday and Sunday, Modi will attend several events of Kolkata Port Trust. He will also distribute relief amount to professors.
In Kolkata, the Prime Minister will inaugurate Old Currency Building, Belvedere House, Metcalf House and Victoria Memorial Hall. The Ministry of Culture has repaired these old and historic buildings. Their art galleries have been renovated.

The Ministry of Culture is working on a plan to construct a cultural area near historic buildings located in large cities of the country. After Kolkata, the scheme will also be implemented in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Varanasi.
Prime Minister Modi will hand over a check of Rs 501 crore to the troubled pension fund of existing and retired employees of Kolkata Port Trust. Modi will also honour Nagina Bhagat (105) and Naresh Chandra Chakraborty (100), two old pensioners of the trust who have completed 100 years of age. The Prime Minister will also launch the song of Kolkata Port Trust during the event. Apart from this, Modi will also introduce many new facilities.

According to reports, TMC Chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to meet Prime Minister Modi in Kolkata. While the exact agenda of the meeting is not yet disclosed, the party insiders say that she may discuss various state-related issues with the Prime Minister including NRC and CAA.
