Amitabh Bachchan to donate Rs 5 lakh each to families of soldiers killed in Pulwama attacks

Mumbai | Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has announced that he will be donating Rs 5 lakh each to the families of 40 CRPF personnel who were martyred in the Pulwama terror attack.

A spokesperson of the 76-year-old actor said he is currently finding out from several government sources where and how the amount will be distributed to ensure it is expedited.

“Yes, Mr Bachchan will be giving Rs 5 lakh to each of the martyr’s families and is currently finding out the correct process to do so,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

The 76-year-old actor had on Friday cancelled his appearance as a special guest at Virat Kohli’s Foundation event, which will now take place on Saturday.

Forty CRPF personnel were killed and five injured on Thursday in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir when a Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district.

Patanjali Cow Ghee Conforms To Food Safety Standards, Fit For Human Consumption: National Food Laboratory

After the review of Patanjali Cow Ghee sample, it was found to be conforming to the standards laid down under Regulation No. 8 of the Food Safety and Standards.

New Delhi: National Food Laboratory, Ghaziabad has cleared the sample of Patanjali cow ghee as fit for human consumption. In its corrigendum issued on August 24, 2022, the laboratory has said that the sample conformed to the food safety standards.

The sample of Patanjali Cow Ghee was collected by the Food Safety Administration Office, Tehri Garhwal. The sample was analyzed initially by the State Laboratory, at Uttarakhand. However, being dissatisfied with the result, Patanjali sent the sample for analysis at a recognized laboratory in Ghaziabad: National Food Laboratory.

The sample was analyzed there from 21.07.2022 to 02.08.2022 and the result of its analysis was released on 06.08.2022 in a report. The report noted that the sample was assessed as non-conforming with the standards laid down under Regulation No. 2.1.8 of the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011. The same information was published by multiple news portals, including ours.

However, after the review of the sample, it was found to be conforming to the standards laid down under Regulation No. 8 of the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) regulations, 2011. A “Corrigendum” was issued on 24.08.2022 to Designated Officer (Food Safety), FSDA, Tehril Garhwal, stating the same.

Please refer to your sample with sample Code No. SS-182/2021 and this office Report No. 260/Aug/22-UK dated 06.08.2022 for the sample of “Cow’s Ghee (Patanjali)”.

A corrigendum has been issued for the above-cited certificate as under:

The opinion part in Page No 4 of 4 may be read as under:

“Opinion: Sample of Cow’s Ghee (Patanjali) conforms to the standards laid down under

Regulation No. 2.1.8 of Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011.”

in lieu of

Opinion: Sample of Cow’s Ghee (Patanjali) does not conform to the standards laid down. under Regulation No.2.1.8 of Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011. as the sample shows fatty acids composition C8.0. C14:0, C15:0, C16:0 & C17:0 above the maximum prescribed limit and C18:3 below the minimum prescribed limit. The sample is thus substandard under section 3(1)(x) of FSS Act, 2006.

Moreover, Patanjali has also denied May12, 2022 incident wherein a sample of rice from Bisht Restaurant in Selupani was sent for laboratory examination, which was found to be unsuccessful. Patanjali said that no rice sample belonging to the product of the company was ever taken from the premises and the testing of the rice sample has nothing to do with it.
