New Delhi | Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday congratulated the Indian Cricket team for its victory over its arch rival Pakistan in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.
Terming the victory as a strike on the neighbouring team, Shah on Twitter wrote,” Another strike on Pakistan by Team India and the result is same. Congratulations to the entire team for this superb performance. Every Indian is feeling proud and celebrating this impressive win.”

The Virat Kohli led Indian Cricket Team on Sunday defeated Pakistan by 89 runs in the rain-affected match. Chasing a stiff 337-run target, Pakistan were already down and out when rain stopped play after 35 overs. They had managed just 166 runs for loss of six wickets, nowhere near the DLS par-score of 252.
When play resumed, the match was reduced to 40 overs with a revised target of 302, which meant that Pakistan required 136 runs from five overs. Imad Wasim (46) and Shadab Khan (20) remained unbeaten to end at 212 for six, handing India a comprehensive victory via Duckworth Lewis method.
Indian Vice Captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma scored a century with a brilliant 140 off 113 balls. This was Indians 7 consecutive victory over Pakistan in the ICC ODI World Cup winning the matches in the previous encounters of 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003,2011 and 2015.
The term ‘Strike’ referred by Amit Shah in the tweet comes from Indian Armed forces Surgical Strike in 2016 after 2019 Balakot Air Strike after the Pulwama terror attack.
