Arvind Kejriwal Submits Resignation To L-G, Atishi Marlena To Be New CM

Hours after Aam Aadmi Party MLAs in the national capital elected State Minister Atishi Marlena as the new Chief Minister-designate in place of Arvind Kejriwal, The AAP supremo met Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) V.K. Saxena and submitted this resignation.

During the meeting, Atishi submitted a letter with MLA support to form the new government. Days ago, Kejriwal had announced his plan to step down as Chief Minister within 48 hours, two days after he walked out of prison.

Kejriwal has called for early polls to allow the people of Delhi to decide if the AAP government is honest. The Delhi assembly’s tenure is slated to end in February 2025. AAP currently has the support of 60 lawmakers in the Delhi assembly.
