Asaduddin Owaisi challenges government to bring ordinance on Ram Temple

New Delhi | AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday challenged the Central government to bring an ordinance on the Ram Temple after the Supreme Court postponed the hearing of the title dispute until January next year.

Responding to the Supreme Court’s decision, Owaisi said,”Why don’t they bring it (ordinance on Ram temple)? Let them do it. Every time they are threatening that they will bring an ordinance.” Criticising the BJP and its political ideologue RSS, Owaisi alleged,”Every Tom, Dick & Harry of BJP, RSS, VHP says this. Do it. You are in power. I challenge you to do it. Let us see.”

Earlier the Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of the decade-old Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute till January 2019.

The top court bench including Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SK Kaul and Justice M Joseph has postponed the matter till January 2019 to fix the date of hearing in the Ayodhya title suit. Earlier the Supreme Court in September had announced that the hearing of Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute will begin from October 29.

The bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, “It will come up in the first week of January not for hearing but for deciding the date of the hearing. Hearing may be in January, February, March, whenever….also the bench by which it shall be heard will be constituted.
