Atishi is now Delhi’s 3rd female chief minister; The 43-year-old is also Delhi’s youngest female chief minister.

Almost a week after AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal announced to step down as CM of Delhi, Minister Atishi Marlena has been sworn in as the new Chief Minister on Saturday, marking the fourth consecutive AAP government in the capital.

Atishi is now Delhi’s 3rd female chief minister; The 43-year-old is also Delhi’s youngest female chief minister.
The newly announced Council of Ministers includes Sultanpur Majra MLA Mukesh Ahlawat, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Imran Hussain.

“It’s all thanks to Arvind Kejriwal and Baba Saheb that people like me have the opportunity to become a Minister. Our focus will be on working as much as possible, with a priority on serving the Dalit and backward communities.” AAP MLA Mukesh Ahlawat said in his first reaction after taking oath as minister.

Kejriwal has demanded an early election, Delhi is due to go to Assembly Elections early next year. However, he sought an election in November this year, clubbed with the Maharashtra and Jharkhand polls, and said that he would not sit on the chief minister’s chair until he was vindicated in the people’s court.
