Bengal BJP MP Retracts Resignation As Youth Wing Chief ‘Under Amit Shah’s Instruction’

Khan, who jumped ship to the BJP from TMC in 2018 clarified that he had no intentions of leaving the party. However, he trained his guns on Mr. Adhikari and said “one particular leader was making frequent trips to Delhi and claiming credit for every success of the party”.

BJP MP from West Bengal Saumitra Khan on Wednesday took back his resignation as the youth wing chief hours after he went public with his discontent in the party and its leadership. Khan said he took back his resignation ‘under Amit Shah’s instruction’

“I take an opportunity to inform that under the instruction of our BJP leaders BL Santhosh Ji, Amit Shah Ji, and Tejasvi Surya Ji, I withdraw my resignation as a mark of respect,” he said in a Facebook post at 9 pm on Wednesday.

According to the state BJP sources, central BJP leaders have assured him that his grievances would be looked into and urged him to take back his resignation, NDTV reported.

Earlier, he attacked BJP MLA in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Suvendu Adhikari claiming that he tries to take credit for all the achievements. He also slammed state BJP president Dilip Ghosh.

“This leader of opposition in the state should look in the mirror. He is misleading the leaders in New Delhi. He considers himself as the tallest leader of the party in Bengal,” Mr. Khan said in a video on Facebook.
