The state BJP alleged that there are militants hiding in the Garo hill constituency from where the incumbent Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is contesting elections.
Ahead of Tripura Assembly Elections, the battle between the political parties has intensified. On Friday, the state BJP reached out to Election Commission to complain about the incumbent CPI(M) allegedly for spreading rumours. The BJP alleged that CPI(M) is spreading rumours and false information to the public of Tripura that their workers will be able to review who voted for the party.
BJP in its letter submitted to Election Commission said that the CPI(M) trying to rig the election and is intimidating voters. The letter read, “The CPI(M) is trying to rig the masses and electoral process by spreading rumours, intimidating voters and unleashing violence”.
BJP further in the letter mentioned the rumour allegedly spread by the CPI(M). According to the memorandum, the CPI(M) told people that if anyone votes for BJP the EVM will make a louder sound. Allegedly, the CPI(M) also warned them of Cameras in every polling booth and said that its workers will keep an eye on the polling process.
Further, it also alleged that there are militants hiding in the Garo hill constituency from where the incumbent Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is contesting elections. It also said that in a breach of the code of conduct, some police officials are also campaigning for the CPI(M) in the north-eastern state.
Blazing guns at the Chief Election Officer, BJP accused him of not running awareness campaign educating people about VVPAT machines and evoking confidence in them. The party also suggested that there should be general and police observers present in the states for the handlings of the complaints.
PM Modi too who is on a visit to Tripura on Thursday had said that BJP will uproot one of the last surviving state ruled by the CPI(M).
