BJP chief Amit Shah accuses Congress of defaming the country across the globe

Amit Shah demands an apology from Rahul Gandhi and Congress for falsely accusing BJP of “Saffron terror”.

Addressing a gathering, the BJP chief slammed Congress and its party workers by stating that its party leaders often used the said terms in the past, but now deny doing so. The mentioned terms are phrases such as ‘saffron and Hindu terror’.

“For several years Congress defamed the country around the world by using terms saffron terror and Hindu terror. Rahul Gandhi terror has no religion, now Congress says we never used these words. Many Congress leaders are on the record using these terms including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,” Shah said.

He went on to mention that on 16 December 2010, Rahul Gandhi spoke of saffron terror with the American ambassador and subsequently P Chidambaram in 2012, Sushil Kumar Shinde and Salman Khurshid in 2013 all said the same thing.

“I would also appeal to the workers to take this issue of so-called Hindu or Saffron terror and tell people as to how the Congress was fabricating cases and putting innocent people behind bars, in jail,” he concluded.

Earlier in the day, the Shah also paid tribute to Basaveshwara by garlanding his status.
