BJP-JDU to contest on equal seats in Bihar Lok Sabha election: Amit Shah

Patna | Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Friday announced that the Nitish Kumar led JDU and BJP will be contesting on the same number of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Amit Shah said, “It has been decided that BJP & JDU will fight on equal number of seats for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in Bihar.” Speaking on the seats share, Amit Shah stated that other allies will also get a respectable seat share while the numbers will be announced in a few days.

Shah also addressed the reduction of seats for the smaller parties in the alliance. He said,” Upendra Kushwaha and Ram Vilas Paswan will remain with us. When a new ally has joined us, there will be a reduction in seat share for everyone.”

Earlier Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwaha in August urged BJP to hold a meeting of all NDA constituents in Bihar at the earliest so that a seat-sharing formula could be arrived at well ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha polls.
