Budget 2019: Yogendra Yadav calls ‘Zero Budget Speech for Farmers’

New Delhi | Despite Modi government’s claims of 2019 Union Budget being the budget of New India, the opposition parties have said there is nothing for the common man in this budget.

Swaraj India chief and political analyst Yogendra Yadav have termed it as a ‘Zero Budget Speech’ for farmers. Yadav taking on twitter wrote that the budget has no reference to drought, no plan to double the Farm Income, no proper plan to provide Minimum support price to the farmers.

He further questioned that it was the first time when the Finance Minister’s budget speech made no reference to budget heads and allocations. no data on claims, no data on achieved targets and no data on budgetary allocations.

Nirmala Sitharaman today while presenting Union Budget said that the Union government will work with State Governments to allow farmers to benefit from e-NAM. “The government is working towards forming 10,000 new Farmer Producer Organizations to ensure economies of scale for farmers while it will also stress on spreading Zero Budget farming to other states,” she added.
